Jupiter and Antares


Speaking of the planet that doesn’t technically orbit the sun… Jupiter was shining bright this morning through a pair of 7×35 binoculars. Just about 5 degrees above bright red Antares. At 7x I could barely make out the disc, and the cloud bands were completely invisible. It was about 06:15 PST, clear and cold, about 24F.
