Sky and Telescope graphic of 6R10DB9's orbitThis is old news, but we have a second “natural sattelite”, at least until June of this year. See SkyTonight.com – News from SkyTonight – Earth’s “Other Moon” for details. The short version is that there is a tiny (1 meter or so) asteroid that has been temporarily captured by Earth’s gravity. It arrived in April 2006, will complete it’s fourth and final orbit of earth in September, and be flung off in another direction entirely.
