Space Travel & Medical Ethics

Over on AstronomyBuzz, the UtilitarianPlanetarian has a post up about Medical Ethics and Space Travel.

While the topic is morbid, since we’re considering space travel which may require people to be in space or on another planet for years, someone’s got to consider these things before we go. This article on cnn.com (which the U.P. pointed out in his post) talks about our planned mission to Mars. What happens when somebody dies “up there”? How do his/her crewmates handle it? What will the policies and procedures be?
